Smile Designing

Whitening, bonding, veneers and aesthetic corrections planned together, so nothing announces itself as dental work.

Smile Designing

Smile designing is not a single treatment. It is the practice of planning the corrections together rather than doing them one at a time and hoping they add up.

It usually combines some mix of whitening, composite bonding, veneers and reshaping. Gaps close, chipped edges rebuild, uneven edges get contoured, and the shade is matched across the whole smile rather than to one tooth.

The sequence matters more than any individual step. Whitening after veneers, for example, leaves you with veneers that no longer match, because bonded ceramic does not lighten. Doing it the other way round avoids that entirely.

We start by looking at what actually bothers you when you see a photo of yourself, not at a generic ideal. Sometimes that turns out to be one tooth and a twenty minute contouring appointment. Sometimes it is a fuller plan across several visits. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.

Common questions

About smile designing

How long does a smile makeover take?

It depends entirely on what is involved. Contouring and bonding can be a single visit. A plan combining whitening and veneers usually runs across a few appointments over several weeks.

Will it look obviously done?

That is the thing we plan hardest to avoid. Shade, edge shape and proportion are matched to your face and your other teeth, so the result reads as your smile rather than as dental work.

Do I have to do everything at once?

No. We map out the full plan and the right order, and you can work through it at whatever pace suits you, as long as the sequence is respected.
