Braces or Aligners: How We Decide What's Right for You

Whether braces or clear aligners are the right choice depends mainly on how complex the correction is. Aligners work well for mild to moderate crowding or gaps, while braces handle more significant bite and alignment issues that aligners cannot fully correct.

Both start the same way: a consultation and scans to actually see what is going on with the bite, not just the teeth you can see when you smile. From there we build a real plan with a realistic timeline, not a rough guess.

Braces are fixed, adjusted at follow-up visits, and tend to suit more complex cases: significant crowding, bite problems, or younger patients still developing. Clear aligners are removable, changed in sets as your teeth shift, and suit people who want something less visible for day-to-day life, provided the case is straightforward enough.

Neither is simply "better". It genuinely depends on what your bite needs, and we will tell you plainly if aligners will not get the result you are picturing, rather than sell the more convenient option when it is not the right one.

If you have been putting off asking about this because you assume it means metal brackets for two years, it is worth a consultation just to find out which category you are actually in.
